What do you do when you’re at your end? When you feel you can’t handle your situation anymore? When you feel it’s too much?
What do you do when you're at your end? When you feel you can't handle your situation anymore? When you feel it's too much?
Honestly? I don’t know.
No. That’s not right. I do know. It’s just sooooo hard that I feel I don’t know.
I was put on strict bedrest at 27 weeks to do everything we can to keep our sweet baby safe. I go from handling it well to fighting discouragement in a huge way.
Today I’m feeling all the things - discouragement, I can’t do this anymore, this is too hard to bear.....not only is this hard on me personally to just be in bed, but it’s hard to see the tiredness on my 16yo’s face as she helps run the home/meals/kids. It’s hard to have to ask someone again for something I need, even something as basic as food or water, because I feel all I do is ask for things. It’s hard to watch my husband be exhausted after working all day but have to do my job too and know I can’t help him out.
It’s just hard.
This is what is best for Baby and I right now.
This is what is best for our entire family - that everyone step up and serve each other and me more, that we work on character training like never before, that we all sacrifice.
This is what is best for our church family - that they are so willing to provide meals for our family, that they pray for us more.
And yet I still whine, cry (literally), fight discouragement and depression, and feel I can do this no more.
I started a small notebook to jot down verses, thoughts, quotes....anything that was encouraging in the moment or made me stop to think. Things I could look back on on hard days to try to encourage myself.
Thought I’d share some of them with you.
Psalm 42:5-6A Why are you cast down O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall praise him, my salvation and my God. My soul is cast down within me, therefore I remember you...
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the LORD always; again I will say rejoice
