The last time I posted was almost exactly a year ago. π²
My word how things have changed!!
July 17, 2024 we welcomed Baby #11 into the world. The midwife made it to this birth (she missed #10’s haha!) with ten minutes to spare. π
Our oldest daughter starting courting an amazing young man.
August 12 we moved our daughter back to college.
September 3 we signed the paperwork for the sale of our Florida home.
September 9 we moved out of our Florida home and the kids and I moved to my momma’s house.
September 12 we signed the paperwork to buy our Oregon home.
September 15 was our last Sunday in the Cape Canaveral church and we told our oldest goodbye (I thought my heart was going to break from that one)
September 16 my husband and future son-in-law started driving the moving van across the country.
September 23 those two flew back to Florida.
September 25 our entire family, plus my mama, flew to Oregon to our new home.
September 28 our oldest became engaged.
December 16 our oldest flew out to Oregon and we started preparing for her wedding!!!
January 3 was her wedding day! (They decided to get married in Oregon since we had just moved.)
Since then we’ve:
Been getting really settled
Getting to know our church family
Homeschooling
#3 turned 13 and got her ears pierced
#2 turned 16
#9 turned 4
#6 turned 10 and got a zip line
And now this week #10 is turned 3 and #11 is turning 1. !!!
Our first winter here was a mild one, so we got to ease our way into it. Twas very odd to spend so much time inside at that time of year. πIn Florida it’s nice(er) and we’re spending much of our days outside soaking up the better weather. Not here! π
February we had 2.5 days of snow and there was even enough to go sledding on the hill next door. Most of the kids had never seen snow, so it was extra exciting. We were doing school, I look out the window and yell “it’s snowing!!” We quickly wrapped up whatever class we were in and cancelled school for a few days. π
End of May/early June (I forget when now) we had our first heat wave. It only got up to 89/90 I think, but we were all about to perish. We kept asking “why can’t we do this?!?!” It’s because there is no escape here. In Florida everyone has AC, here not everyone does. We don’t! It got SO hot in the house. We promptly bought an AC until and shuffled everyone around to get as close to the AC as possible that night. The next day my husband drove 30 minutes to get another unit. Then we bought a third. So now the master and boys bedrooms have units and there is one downstairs. When it’s gets too hot we move the kids out of the girls bedroom into the room with AC’s until the heat has passed. π
The first few days of July saw us wearing jackets. It was the weirdest thing and kinda blowing our minds a bit. π
Summer seems to be officially here and we’re taking a few weeks break from school. Dad and the 14yo are leaving for Teen Camp in Montana this week for a week. In August our whole family is going on a road trip to Idaho for a family camp at a sister church there. We’re going to get a rental house for 2 nights on the way there and 1 on the way back. The kids are all very excited. π
